50 Cent album has 'no fillers'

50 Cent believes his new album could be as "special" as his breakthrough Get Rich Or Die Tryin.

The 36-year-old New Yorker achieved mainstream success with his 2003 debut after teaming up with superstars Dr Dre and Eminem.

He has since put out three more successful records while also building up acting and entrepreneurial careers.

50 Cent - real name Curtis Jackson - has not released an album since 2009 and is excited about his new record, which is set to be released in July.

"I think it's great - arguably as good as the first album. But music marks time, so we'll see if my timing is right," he said.

"It's pretty much done. I don't want to shun opportunities (for people) to hear something that I feel is special, because I may out-do myself."

He added: "I'm excited because I took a lot longer this time and was a lot more calculated on this project. I'm saying what I really want to say to the general public as opposed to trying to just make the date and filling.

"There are no real album fillers on this, it's all stuff that I feel I need to have on this record."

Jackson remains tight-lipped about the title of the album.

"I haven't actually 'launched' the name for it," he said. "I know the name, but I haven't really put it out yet. I've got to figure out the right place to do it."
