Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood was a double-winner at an annual awards bash to honour commercial radio.

The guitarist-turned-broadcaster collected the specialist programme of the year award for his Absolute Radio show and his weekly guest slot was named best feature.

It triumphed at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards in London, which also saw Absolute take the station of the year title.

XFM's Danny Wallace was named presenter of the year, while Classic FM - the country's biggest national commercial station - picked up the gold award as it celebrated its 20th year on air with judges praising its "creativity" and "innovation".

Chart-topping star Adele was awarded a prize for being the most-played artist on commercial radio, an award taken by Take That for the four previous years. Jessie J was given the prize for best breakthrough.

The awards were handed out at the Westminster Bridge Park Plaza Hotel at a ceremony hosted by Christian O'Connell.

Trevor Marshall, of 106 JACKfm Oxfordshire, was named presenter of the year for a show with less than a million listeners.

The newcomer of the year award went to Emma Barnett, of LBC 97.3, while Radio Aire News won journalist/news team of the year.

Station of the year with under 300,000 listeners was given to Isle of Wight Radio, while 106 JACKfm Oxfordshire won station of the year with 300,000 to a million listeners.
