Blur close Olympics in Hyde Park

Britpop band Blur has hailed Britain's success at the 2012 London Olympic Games as they performed to tens of thousands in Hyde Park.

Frontman Damon Albarn, who has gone on to set up numerous side projects including Gorillaz, was joined on stage by guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree in a performance to coincide with the Olympics closing ceremony.

They opened with their hit Girls And Boys before performing London Loves.

Damon told the crowd: "And we love London!"

The quartet performed under a replica of London's WestWay.

Earlier, crowds saw re-formed New Order and enjoyed performances from Bombay Bicycle Club and The Specials.

The Closing Ceremony Celebration Concert was the last in a series of BT London Live shows being staged for the duration of the Games, which began on the night of the opening ceremony with Duran Duran, Paulo Nutini, Stereophonics and Snow Patrol representing British music.
