Westlife Kian: I won't go solo

Westlife's Kian Egan has insisted he won't be releasing any solo material - because he'd feel under too much pressure.

The Irish boyband split up this summer after 14 years together in which they notched up 14 number one singles and a string of hit albums and Kian doesn't think he could live up to that on his own.

He revealed at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Award: "I think the idea of going solo is a huge amount of pressure to get it all right, and coming out of a band that's been so successful, I think it's going to be a huge pressure for any of us to try and release solo music and make it as big and successful."

The 32-year-old is now focusing on work as a TV presenter, working on The Xtra Factor, Surprise Surprise, This Morning and as a coach on music talent show The Voice of Ireland.

Kian said: "I kind of feel like the TV is a natural fit. So for me this is a lot less stressful, it's a good challenge, it's new, it's different and it's really enjoyable."

He has also been enjoying time with wife Jodi Albert and their 10-month-old son Koa.

He said: "I'm kind of keeping busy, not too busy, it's nice to have a bit of down time and spend a bit of time at home with Jodie and the baby. Just relaxing, chilling out and little bit of work."
