Adele 'needed convincing' over Bond

Adele has revealed that she took some convincing to sing the theme tune for the latest James Bond film Skyfall.

The British singer attended the Golden Globes for her first public appearance since becoming a mum last year, where Skyfall won in the Best Original Song category.

Before the ceremony, the 24-year-old music star admitted to E!'s Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that she was worried about living up to the "responsibility" of providing a 007 song.

"I got the script a long time ago and it took quite a while to convince me to do the actual song," she said.

"It's a big responsibility doing a Bond song. Paul McCartney's done it, Shirley Bassey's the queen of them. I was worried I was going to let everybody down by doing it.

"But I got convinced and I loved the script and I think Sam Mendes is just incredible. Daniel Craig is a gorgeous Bond... It paid off and everyone loved it."

She said of recording the track - which has also been nominated for an Oscar - with a 77-piece orchestra: "It was absolutely amazing. I was very pregnant and I was very emotional. It was very exciting, epic and I felt like Frank Sinatra."
