Shows demand scuppered Abba reunion

Former Abba star Agnetha Faltskog has revealed that the group turned down reunion offers because they were asked to perform too many shows.

The Swedish pop group were reportedly offered a one billion dollar sum to get back together.

But Agnetha, 63, told the Radio Times: "We said no because they wanted 250 shows or something, it was incredible. No chance! No chance. We had done it."

The singer said that she would not sing any of the tracks from her new solo album, A, live.

She added: "That's my weakest (thing), the live thing. And also the fact that I'm older now, so I can't do that. I don't want to disappoint people.

"I have been written about like I'm very mysterious. I try every time to explain that I'm so normal.... I'm just a normal Swedish woman."

Take That star Gary Barlow was summoned to Sweden to write a song for A but missed Faltskog on the two occasions he flew to Stockholm - first because she was on holiday and the second time because she felt unwell.

He said of finally meeting the singer in London: "We just ended up chatting for about an hour in the end.

"It was really, really nice. And to hear Agnetha sing again... you just can't help but have your spine tingled by that voice."
