Union J: We feel like pop band now

Union J revealed they feel like a "proper pop band" as they led fans on a spontaneous sing-along during their impromptu busk around London.

The foursome - Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hensley and George Shelley - toured around the capital, singing songs including their debut single Carry You and Carly Rae Jepsen's hit Call Me Maybe at landmarks including the London Eye and Leicester Square.

The boyband, who took fourth place in the last series of ITV's The X Factor, revealed the past six months has been a whirlwind.

"It's been a bit of a rollercoaster. We've been going out and promoting our first single, which is crazy," said Jaymi.

"I feel like today is the first day we're not on The X Factor. For the last six months, I've really felt like 'Union J from The X Factor' but now we're promoting this single as us, and now I feel like a proper pop band," he continued.

Josh added: "Six or seven months ago, we had no idea what the future had in store for us. We didn't even know if we had a record deal at the time. We're so lucky and grateful to be going out busking and promoting our debut single."

The spontaneous busk helped to raise money for the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

"We're busking so we can see the fans. We're here for the Poppy Appeal and the British Legion. It's really important for us - we've got family in the Armed Forces, so we're really happy to be able to help. We're very patriotic," Jaymi explained.

Josh added: "It's amazing for us to do this for a good cause, while we're having fun as well."
