Buble: New songs a salute to women

Michael Buble has said his new single Close Your Eyes is a salute to women.

The 37-year-old Canadian crooner - who is now expecting his first child with model wife Luisana Lopilato - believes women are the stronger sex.

Michael told the TV Times: "I'd never written a song for anyone before, but I'm inspired by people. Close Your Eyes is all about my wife and how she lifts me up and makes me feel strong - because she's strong.

"It's about the strength of all women, actually, and how we need them so much as men. It's like a salute to mothers, daughters, wives, because women are easily the stronger sex in the universe.

"I'm not saying I'm a wimp but this song is talking about the fact my wife does make me feel more brave."

The singer and his wife are expecting their first son this summer.

He revealed: "We're even closer now Lu is expecting. When I found out she is pregnant, I was so in love with her, I was driving her crazy!

"I kept touching her stomach and going, 'I just love you so much!' and she was like, 'Get out of my face!' It was funny."
