NewsJune, 17 Genesis reunite for BBC documentaryGenesis are to reunite for a new BBC documentary - with previously unseen archive material and contributions from the former band members. The feature-length programme will feature the line-up from the band's classic prog-rock era - Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, Tony Banks, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford. Titled Genesis: Together And Apart, the show will explore the "emotional highs and lows" of the band. Peter's official website confirmed the news with a picture of the bandmates all back together for the first time since they promoted their box set in 1998, and said he would be contributing. A statement said: "From their first beginnings as a band of songwriters in the late 1960s to its final incarnation as a rock giant in the 1990s - via full-blown theatrical progressive rock in the mid-1970s and the subtler jazzy pop of the early 1980s - Genesis could perplex and enrage the die-hards, whilst exciting and exhilarating the newer disciples. "The film recounts an extraordinary musical story, exploring the band's songwriting as well as emotional highs and lows, alongside previously unseen archive material and rare performance footage across their entire career." An official air date is yet to be confirmed.
