NewsJuly, 10 Oakenfold: Brit DJs should be proudPaul Oakenfold has said that everyone wants to be a DJ these days. The superstar DJ, who has enjoyed success since the early 1990s, told the Daily Star that Brits should be proud of their success. Paul, 50, said: "A lot of producers who aren't DJs want to become DJs. It's become very popular and a lot of people want a piece of the pie. "It's been a gold rush in the last couple of years but the cream will always rise to the top." He added: "Us Brits should be proud because we started it and we were always the force to be reckoned with. "UK dance now has a stronger foothold than ever. It's an exciting time and I want to be part of it." Paul, who has a new album, Trance Mission, out, said: "I really felt that I needed to rediscover why I got into this in the first place."
