Burrows: I miss being a drummer

Former Razorlight star Andy Burrows has admitted he misses drumming since leaving the band - but it seems he makes sure he picks up his sticks when he works with other acts.

Andy is now focusing on his solo career as a singer-songwriter, but has collaborated with bands like We Are Scientists.

He said: "I have been writing with Tom Odell and playing drums on what will be his new album, and that's a lot of fun, and I drum in Ricky Gervais' band when he tours as David Brent. We're called Foregone Conclusion, but that is a bit more light-hearted.

"I do miss being a drummer, not every day, not to the point I'm going to do anything about it, but one day, when the time is right, I'll join another band as a drummer."

Andy will release his second solo album Fall Together Again on October 20, and said he started working on it when he was still in Razorlight.

Asked which songs he started on back then, he said: "Watch Me Fall Again, which I ultimately ended up finishing with Tom Smith from Editors.

"That song was written between Razorlight's second and third albums, when I'd accidentally become co-songwriter in the band, and I was writing at that time to work out whether I was any good at it. I was testing myself really, and Watch Me Fall Again sat around for ages before I finished it.

"The other song was Hometown, and I presented it to Razorlight, in the same way I'd presented America, in the hope it would catch on, but it didn't."

Andy Burrows is set to tour the UK from October 26.
