NewsApril, 1 Destiny's Child get back together for one night onlyMichelle was also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year for her gospel album Journey To Freedom. The reunited group, who were last seen together for Beyonce’s Super Bowl 2013 half-time show, performed their dance remix of Say Yes, inspired by the Nigerian gospel song When Jesus Says Yes, which they had collaborated on last year. At the time, Michelle told the Hollywood Reporter of her two former bandmates: “They received an advance copy of the album and called saying, ‘We love When Jesus Says Yes. There has to be a Destiny’s Child mix of the song. Kelly did it and Beyonce got right in the studio and did her part. I kept it a secret because I didn’t want anyone to know until it was time. “It was so much fun. It was like we were little kids again. I have their back and they have mine. They have showed themselves to be loyal to me time after time. They have proven they are my sisters time and time again.” Erica Campbell was the big winner at the awards, picking up six trophies including artist of the year, female vocalist and CD of the year for Help. Tiffany Joy McGhee’s Amazing was named song of the year, Deitrick Haddon was male vocalist of the year, and Haddon’s LXW won in the contemporary choir category. The awards will be broadcast on April 5 on the US TV One network.
