James Bay forced to cancel performance at Apple Music Festival

Singer James Bay has been forced to cancel his performance at the Apple Music Festival tonight.

Bay was opening the last night of the show, ahead of Florence + The Machine, and had been due to perform at a Radio X gig during the day, but had to cancel that too.

Writing on Twitter, Bay told fans: “Whatever this c***** lurgy is that’s going around, it’s finally got me. I’m completely gutted to say that I’ve had to cancel my set for @radioX today.

“Huge apologies to everyone who was coming along. Off to the doctor now to get fixed! See you SOON xx.”

He then posted a second message, referencing his cancellation of the Apple Music Festival.

“And of course this rubbish cold means I won’t be able to open up for the amazing Florence + The Machine for the Apple Music festival at the Roundhouse tonight either.

“Going to get better as fast as possible. Have an amazing time tonight x.”

Florence + The Machine will be closing the music festival, which has been running for 10 days.

It has seen acts like One Direction, Little Mix. Ellie Goulding, Take That and Pharrell Williams performing to fans who were lucky enough to win tickets to see them.

So far, a replacement act has not been announced.
