Megan McKenna looks totally different as she auditions for Jess Wright’s girl band in resurfaced TOWIE clip
Megan McKenna looked totally different in her first TOWIE debut as an old clip of her auditioning for Jess Wright’s girl band resurfaced online.
Megan left the reality show after a year in 2017 following the breakdown of her relationship to Pete Wicks, but the 28 year old first made her debut back in 2010.
In the clip, Megan is seen with straight hair and thick fake eyelashes as she auditions to become a member of Jess’s girl band, Lola.
Jess is heard saying: “We need to choose one out of these final three. So take a look, see what you think, let us know.”
The camera then pans to Jess’s brother Mark in the audience before Megan shows off her impressive vocals and dance moves on stage alongside two other hopefuls – including former TOWIE star Jasmin Walia.
Megan subsequently got a role in the band, whose name stood for Lovable Outrageous Loud Ambitious, but their time was short-lived.
Since her departure from the show, the former Ex On The Beach star has focused on her music career.
“I’ve absolutely loved my time on TOWIE, although this series has been emotionally draining so I need a break from all the drama and lies,” she told The Sun Online in 2017.
She added: “My music is really important to me and I just want to focus as much of my time on that as possible but I’d like to think I might return at some point. I’d like to thank everyone at Lime Pictures and ITV for their ongoing support.”
She then embarked on her solo career, which was documented on her reality show There's Something About Megan, and went on to win X Factor: Celebrity.
Megan’s first attempt to stardom began in 2009 when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent and sang What Is This Feeling from musical Wicked as part of a duo called Harmony with her friend.
She previously told the Loose Women panel: “We literally dressed up in legwarmers, everything – our outfits were awful!
“Simon [Cowell] didn’t like our outfits back in the day actually, and it’s funny because when I first did my performance he said he didn’t like my outfit again which made me laugh!”
She continued: “We were young, I was 16, and we didn’t actually think we were going to get as far as we did but we got through to the semi-finals.
“I think getting that taste of being in the TV industry and singing live and stuff was like ‘I just want this so bad’. But it’s taken me so long, it’s so difficult.”
