NewsJune, 28 Megan Thee Stallion had to 'jump through eight million hoops' to get anime sampleMegan Thee Stallion has revealed that she had to "jump through eight million hoops" to get an anime sample in one of her new songs. The rapper took to Instagram Live this week to explain that she had to re-record her new track, Otaku Hot Girl, because she didn't have permission for an anime sample she used in the song. "Y'all will never believe what the motherf**k just happened to me!" Megan, 29, told fans, reports Billboard. "Y'all know how I told y'all I got an anime sample on my album. I recorded the song before I asked for clearance, so when I sent the people the song, they was like..." After a dramatic pause, the Sweetest Pie rapper explained that the anime studio demanded several changes to the track, including some of the lyrics. They also insisted that she couldn't cosplay the characters in the music video or use any of the characters' names in the song. Megan said that although she was frustrated with the changes, she decided to re-record the track hours before she was due to perform in Dallas, Texas on 11 June. "The music is what's really important to me, but the names really tied it all together," she said. "I really hope y'all think this s**t sound fire, 'cause I had to jump through eight million hoops to get this s**t." Otaku Hot Girl was released on Friday as part of her 18-track third studio album, Megan. The album, which also includes singles Hiss and Cobra, comes almost two years after the release of her second studio album, Traumazine.
