Taylor Swift ticket holders refunded after terrorist threat

Ticket holders for Taylor Swift's Austrian concerts have been refunded after a terrorist threat was issued.

Fans will be reimbursed after three Eras Tour shows were cancelled following the discovery of a planned terrorist attack at a venue in Vienna, Austria.

All would-be concertgoers have now been told they'll receive a full refund, plus 20% of the ticket price if they opt to take a credit note instead of a cash refund.

"We are aware of the news regarding the upcoming cancelled Taylor Swift shows in Austria," ticket seller Stubhub announced in a statement on Wednesday.

"All StubHub ticket holders will be notified via email, immediately. We will immediately provide StubHub ticket buyers with a 120% voucher toward another purchase, in line with our event cancellation policy and our FanProtect Guarantee. Buyers who prefer a 100% cash refund can make the request directly in their StubHub wallet."

The concerts were originally scheduled to take place at Ernst Happel Stadium across three consecutive nights from 8-10 August. 65,000 attendees had been anticipated to watch Taylor, 34, perform on each night, with an estimated further 10,000-15,000 fans expected to wait outside the venue.

Two suspects, one aged 19, were arrested after plans to attack the stadium were uncovered. One of the suspects had allegedly pledged allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State on the messaging app, Telegram, in early July.
