NewsNovember, 15 Boyz II Men biopic in the worksA biopic about legendary R&B group Boyz II Men is in development. On Thursday, editors at Variety reported that the vocal harmony group - comprised of Nathan Morris, Wanyá Morris, and Shawn Stockman - has partnered with producers at production and financing companies Compelling Pictures and Primary Wave to work on the feature film. "We've been waiting to find the right partners who understand our story and are willing to tell it all. Denis (O'Sullivan) and Jeff (Kalligheri) at Compelling Pictures understood us day one," Nathan shared in a statement released on behalf of Boyz II Men. The group members will also serve as executive producers. A director has not yet been hired to helm the project. In addition, producers at Compelling Pictures are working on a long-form documentary about Boyz II Men. It will chronicle the group's rise to international fame in the early 1990s following the release of singles like Motownphilly, It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday, and End of the Road. Accordingly, O'Sullivan and Kalligheri insisted it is a "tremendous honour" to be working with Boyz II Men. "We're excited to show the brotherhood and comradery, as well as the challenges and strife, humour and heartbreak, that has accompanied the unparalleled success that Nate, Shawn, Wanya, and Mike have worked so hard to achieve," they added. "And we think the global audience will want to sing along to a sexy, funny, aspirational, uplifting celebration of friendships and artistic partnerships that have stood the test of time." Boyz II Men are currently touring and recently performed three concerts at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
