Billy Ray Cyrus extends olive branch amid family drama

Billy Ray Cyrus has broken his silence after his son, Trace, shared a public plea for him to "get help" on social media.

Amid reports that his daughter Miley Cyrus is doing her best not to get involved in the tense family drama, the country singer seemingly extended an olive branch to his children by sharing a clip from the music video for his 2009 track, Somebody Said a Prayer.

"Sunday callin," Cyrus captioned his post on TikTok. "Giving thanks for the California rain. Praying for the brokenhearted and their pain. Praying for my family. For my children... sons and daughters... and their mother. Let this moment be the start of healing for us all."

He concluded his post by writing: "The past does not equal the future. Amen."

Cyrus' message was directed toward his ex-wife, Tish Cyrus, and their kids: Brandi, 37, Trace, Miley, 32, Braison, 30, and Noah, 25, as well as his son Christopher, 32, who he shares with ex Kristin Luckey.

The tear-jerking song, which was the lead single off Cyrus' album Back to Tennessee, urges listeners to have faith even in the darkest of times.

Billy Ray has not yet commented on Trace's allegation that he is allegedly seeking legal action against him for publicising his concern for his father's health and well-being.
