Britney Spears reflects on experiencing 'highest consciousness' in her life

Britney Spears has opened up about experiencing the "highest consciousness" she's "ever felt in (her) life".

Returning to Instagram on Thursday, the Princess of Pop posted a string of typed notes to the platform, with one seeing her declare that she had decided to "choose animals over people".

"I am actually AWAKENED to KNOW that something like SLEEPING in bed with a LION... something that holy and royal instead sleeping with a person has honestly given me the highest consciousness I've ever felt in my life," she wrote, without offering any further details.

In addition, Britney shared with fans that she has been experimenting with "arts and crafts" this year and recently started to make her own stained-glass lamp.

"I have a lot of emotional issues that come up in my kitchen... I have no idea why... I guess that's usually were we as a family all come together to celebrate, pray and cook and well for some reason I did my crafts there...," the 44-year-old continued. "And then I started painting I painted all night...when I was done I turned all the lights off and then turned on my upside down stain glass lamp... to my surprise it was by no means perfect but my heart and whole body became one with it and I melted with the soft pink and purple glow before me as if I fell in love..."

But while the project sat unfinished in her kitchen, the Toxic hitmaker's "maid accidentally threw it away as if it was a napkin".

"The light was so soft and not too bright it was the most peaceful feeling... it was in my kitchen for three months," she added. "I'm so used to people taking my things, like all my jewelry two years ago... my two closets with ALL MY COAT collections of 40 years and they were the finest coats my friends."

Britney's posts come around a month after she checked out of rehab.

In April, the pop icon's representative confirmed she had gone to a facility after she was arrested in Ventura County, California on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) the previous month.

At a later court hearing, Britney's lawyer pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving on her behalf. She was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to complete a three-month DUI programme.
