Westlife split from Simon Cowell

Westlife have parted ways with music mogul Simon Cowell after 13 years.

The Irish boyband - who are managed by X Factor judge Louis Walsh - have left Simon's Syco record label and signed a multi-million pound new deal with Sony RCA, The Sun reports.

Westlife's Nicky Byrne tweeted: "Truth is yes we have moved on from Syco records after a fantastic 13 years. But it is time for a change and it's very exciting."

The move by Nicky, 32, Mark Feehily, 29, Shane Filan, 31, and Kian Egan, 30, comes a month after Syco reportedly decided not to release a single the lads apparently wanted from their latest album Gravity.

Louis said: The move was a natural progression. There was no bad feeling."

Mark tweeted: "Yes Gravity is the last album for us to make with Simon Cowell and his label. We love and respect him and thank him for his part in Westlife.

"Time for a new chapter. We are still very young and have lots of energy left in us so here's to the future! New label, new lease of 'life'!

"Bring. It. B****y well. On!"
