Suede to close Latitude festival

Suede are to close the Latitude festival, it has been announced.

The Britpop band fronted by Brett Anderson, who reformed last year, are taking the prestigious slot at the Obelisk Arena at the Suffolk festival on July 17.

US indie rockers The National will be opening the arts festival on July 15, with Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini headlining the Saturday stage.

Playing at the Word Arena are NME Award winners Foals, with other performers including Paloma Faith, Bright Eyes, Edwyn Collins, KT Tunstall and Rumer.

Jon Dunn, Music Arenas Booker, said: "I'm very excited about this year's Latitude - I feel it will bring more highlights than ever before, the mix of artists is exciting with great new acts Glasser, Anna Calvi and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, alongside the likes of Edwyn Collins, OMD and Wanda Jackson.

"The thought process behind Latitude has always been to bring great artists to the festival with imagination, passion and talent, and I really believe this is our best ever music bill," he added.

Tickets for Latitude, now in its sixth year and held at Henham Park in Southwold, Suffolk, are on sale now.
