Liam reveals his pre-gig nerves

Liam Gallagher has admitted to pre-show jitters on his first tour with new group Beady Eye.

The singer, who parted ways with brother Noel and formed the act with his fellow ex-Oasis bandmates, is fresh from a series of sold-out gigs across the UK.

"There were a few nerves before the shows," the rock hardman revealed.

"Like anxious nerves. Not because I'm scared or anything."

Liam, who is back on the road with Beady Eye from April 11 for a larger tour, said he was delighted with the positive response to the band's live performances.

"The best thing is, and I'm not making excuses here, most of us were all flued up on that tour, so it was great reading these amazing live reviews knowing that we were only at 50 per cent. We should get sick more often," he joked.

Beady Eye's debut, Different Gear, Still Speeding, entered the chart at number three - though Liam admitted peoples' initial expectations of the band were "not very high".

"People didn't think we could walk or talk without Noel," he added.

"The next album is where we'll be tested, but that's when we have to go up another gear."
