Adele back on top in album charts

Songstress Adele has regained the top spot in the album chart after the Foo Fighters pushed her off the number one position for a week.

The singer's album 21 made pop history by spending 11 weeks at the summit of the charts before the American rockers clinched it last Sunday.

Wasting Light, the new album from Dave Grohl's band, now finds itself sandwiched in second place, as Adele's debut record 19 stays at number three.

Jessie J's album Who You Are rose three places to fourth, while Rihanna's Loud went from sixth to fifth.

The week's highest entry was Chipmunk's second studio album Transition which came in at number 10, just two places ahead of The Fall, the brand new album from Damon Albarn's Gorillaz.

In the singles chart Party Rock Anthem, by LMFAO featuring Lauren Bennett and Goonrock, held on to the number one spot.

Unorthodox, by Wretch 32 featuring Example, came straight into the rundown at number two, pushing Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull's track On The Floor into third.

Tracy Chapman's 1998 single Fast Car leapt to fourth place after it found itself in 58th last week.

Beyonce and Tinie Tempah's new songs broke into the charts in 18th and 33rd respectively.
