Gary Barlow frightened of flying

Gary Barlow would like an X-Men superpower - the ability to fly - while Jason Orange would prefer to be invisible, the Take That stars have revealed.

The band have recorded Love Love, for the soundtrack of new X-Men prequel X-Men: First Class, which got them thinking about which superpowers they would like to share with the film characters.

Gary revealed: "Flying for me, because it means I wouldn't have to go on a plane again. I'd be able to fly. I don't like aeroplanes, not a fan."

But bandmate Jason Orange said he would like to be invisible so he could eavesdrop.

Jason said: "If you could fly, that's great for you but you're not finding anything out. You're just becoming more famous, everyone pointing at you. 'Look, there's Super Jay' but I try to keep a low profile when I'm not with the band. I don't want to add to it with a pair of wings.

"I'd like to be invisible. Come on, that's what everyone wants isn't it? There are only two powers, and anyone that says different is deluded. Everyone wants to be invisible or to be able to fly. What else is better than that?

"It'd be great. You could find out everything you needed to know.

"I'd check out all the conspiracy theories; you could go into offices, top-secret meetings, you could hear all those conversations. You could know everything about world politics, where we are."

Howard Donald pointed out: "And if you were invisible you could fly for free anyway, you could just sneak on a plane."

Take That's Progress tour starts in Sunderland on Friday and X-Men: First Class is released on June 3.
