Keys taken aback by royal venue

Alicia Keys admitted to a touch of stage nerves before her performance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The Grammy-winning songstress brought her stripped-back Piano And I show to London, with one-off dates also in Paris and New York, declaring beforehand on Twitter: "I'm gonna WEAR OUT the piano tonight!"

As she stepped onto the stage and took her spot by her decorated grand piano, surrounded by candelabras, she told the screaming crowds: "When I walked in here today, my heart stopped for a second, it is so incredible and so beautiful."

Alicia, dressed in black trousers and white waistcoat, later declared herself in a "London state of mind", and said: "This is the only way I've done it like this. It's my favourite way to perform. It's so special to me," before launching into hits like Fallin', A Woman's Worth, If I Ain't Got You and Superwoman.

After the intimate show, the 30-year-old - and proud mum to eight-month-old son Egypt - tweeted: "Tonight... I'm speechless!! LONDON! You're indescribable!!!! sending you the endless love you sent to me!;-)"

The exclusive shows are to promote the 10th anniversary of her debut album, Songs In A Minor, and its forthcoming reissue on on June 27.
