Michael Jackson commemorated in LA

Michael Jackson has been honoured by his family with a hand and footprint ceremony in Los Angeles.

The king of pop's three children Prince, 14, Paris, 13 and nine-year-old Blanket paid tribute to their father by imprinting his hand and footmarks into cement outside Grauman 's Chinese Theatre using his famous sequin glove and his dancing shoes, along with their own handprints.

Prince said: "This, right here, is his lifetime achievement award. This is what he strived to get, and this is what we are giving him now."

Jackson's mother, Katherine, and brothers Tito and Jackie also attended the ceremony, along with guests including Justin Bieber, Smokey Robinson and Quincy Jones.

Paris introduced Justin, admitting that she was a big fan.

The Baby singer paid tribute to his hero, saying: "Michael meant so much to me, I know he meant a lot to you guys as well.

"He was more than entertainer - he was an inspiration in the way he was kind, he was gentle and very charitable. That's why I look up to him... Everything that I do I look at Michael and think I want to be as good as he was.

"I think that people are going to remember him for his dancing and his singing. But people have to remember him for being the man that he was."

Justin then sang an a cappella version of Michael Jackson's hit Rockin' Robin.

The late singer's mother Katherine said: "Thank you for being here for this very, very solemn occasion for my son. It's a very good celebration and I know if Michael was here he would agree."
