Original Sugababes back together

Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy are reforming the original Sugababes.

The Overload singers - who founded the girlband together in 1998 - have been rumoured to be working on a comeback album and now singer-songwriter Emile Sande has confirmed she is writing songs for the reunion.

Emile told MTV: "Yes, that is true. I've written for the original line-up of the Sugababes, which I'm very happy about because I just loved them when they first came out.

"I loved their sound, it was so cool. It was very different, so I'm happy to kind of be involved in what started the whole Sugababes journey. It sounds amazing."

Rumours began when Keisha and Mutya tweeted they were both working with Professor Green on the same day earlier this month.

Keisha tweeted on January 5: "Hanging out in the studio with Professor Green and two lovely ladies with bags of talent"

Mutya wrote: "At studio with Professor Green in the building and two beautiful ladies"

The original Sugababes were formed in 1998 by All Saints manager Ron Tom when the girls were just 13. Siobhan quit the band during a tour in Japan in 2001 amid rumours of bullying. Heidi Range replaced her later that year. Mutya left in 2005 and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah. Keisha quit in 2009 and was replaced by former UK Eurovision entrant Jade Ewen.

Since 2002 the band has had a string of hits including Freak Like Me, Round Round, Hole In The Head, Push The Button and Ugly.

The band will need to find a new name as Heidi, Amelle and Jade are currently operating under the name of the Sugababes.
