Jonjo joins Military Wives' ranks

Former X Factor hopeful Jonjo Kerr is joining the ranks of number one stars the Military Wives for their next assault on the charts.

Jonjo, who made the finals of the ITV1 show last year, is a guest vocalist on a track for the choir's album which is out next month.

The wives topped the Christmas singles chart with their song Wherever You Are under the guidance of mentor Gareth Malone, who put the group together for a BBC2 series.

The choir pipped Jonjo's X Factor rivals Little Mix, who won the talent show, to take the festive top spot.

Jonjo, from Chorley, is a private in 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment and is due to return for a stint in Afghanistan.

He missed his own leaving party to head into the studio to record the song, which has been written by Paul Mealor, who composed Wherever You Are.

The track is a romantic duet, sung by a man who is parted from his lover overseas.

He said: "I've been following the amazing story of the Military Wives along with the rest of the nation.

"What they've achieved in giving support to military families is incredible and to be a part of their journey is very special for me."

The album, also called In My Dreams, is released by Decca on March 5.
