NewsAugust, 22 Morissette inducted into RockWalkAlanis Morissette has joined the ranks of Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder and Jimmy Page after being inducted into the RockWalk in Hollywood. The Canadian singer-songwriter, whose 1995 album Jagged Little Pill sold over 30 million copies, was joined by Clueless star Alicia Silverstone at the ceremony at Guitar Centre on Sunset Boulevard. The 38-year-old admitted it took encouragement from her friends to embrace her success. "As a Canadian I'm known to do the 'aw shucks,' and look down at my feet thing a lot, and I've had many friends encourage me to enjoy the egoic aspects of this fantastic career, so here I am," she said. "It's an honour to be here." Alicia revealed she used to be "obsessed" with the singer and fellow vegan as a teen. Speaking of the first time she listened to Jagged Little Pill, Alicia said: "I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "I felt like I was her biggest fan in the world, I thought that we were soulmates." The two women went on to become friends, and are both mothers to young sons - Alanis gave birth to her son Ever Imrie in December 2010, while Alicia is mother to Bear Blu, born last year. "This woman was my idol, I was obsessed with her, and so looking back truly moves me, she's such a talented lady," Alicia explained.
