Girls Aloud plan 10th anniversary

Girls Aloud have been inspired by the Spice Girls' performance at the Olympics closing ceremony and are planning "something special" to mark their 10th anniversary.

Sarah Harding said all five members of the girl band are "really nostalgic" about their decade together.

She told Hello! magazine: "When I watched the Spice Girls on stage at the Olympic closing ceremony I did think, 'I want that to be us'".

"We needed a break, time to do our own things, but now we're starting to feel really nostalgic about the 10 years we've been a band and really want to mark it with something special."

Harding said she was happy being single following her split from long-term boyfriend Tom Crane and had swapped her party lifestyle for a new healthy regime.

The singer said: "I've done a lot of healing, a lot of thinking. I went through a break-up with a man I'd been with for five years and who I planned to marry and start a family with and it was horrendous. I hit rock bottom and went off the rails. I needed to find myself again and I really feel I've done that and turned a corner. I finally feel I'm in a really good place in my life."

Harding, who posed for pictures in Tuscany for the magazine, said: "I have come to realise that I cannot begin to love anyone again until I learn to love myself, and my focus since has been on moving forward and getting myself into the best possible shape."
