Lavigne and Kroeger take in Paris

Avril Lavigne jetted to Paris to spend time with fiance Chad Kroeger on his European tour.

The Sk8r Boi singer and the Nickelback frontman - who got engaged recently - were snapped strolling hand-in-hand through Paris, taking in the sights and enjoying some shopping.

The couple's French trip came just a couple of days after they were in Munich, where Chad, 37, performed and Avril celebrated her 28th birthday.

The star had a surprise birthday treat when her hubby-to-be asked the audience at his band's show in the German city to sing Happy Birthday.

Avril later tweeted her fans to thank them for the birthday messages.

"Thank you for all of the sweet birthday wishes. :) so nice to read. Love you guys. Xxoo," she wrote.
