Swift, Minaj for US music awards

Taylor Swift is set to perform at this year's American Music Awards, it has been announced.

The US chart star, who is nominated for favourite female country artist, will take to the stage at the glamorous event next month.

Organisers announced that Nicki Minaj and Linkin Park will also perform at the 40th annual ceremony. Christina Aguilera will also take part.

American Idol judge Nicki is the night's leading nominee, along with Rihanna, as the stars have four nods each.

Fans can pick the winners by voting online.

The American Music Awards will be held in Los Angeles on November 18.
