NewsMay, 7 Sheeran: I won't write for 1D albumEd Sheeran has said he wants to concentrate on music for his own new album rather than writing songs for other artists such as One Direction. Singer-songwriter Ed has collaborated with the boy band in the past, but told MTV he won't be making a star appearance on their latest album. He said: "I haven't done any songs on this one. I've actually kind of cut myself from giving any people songs at the moment, because I want to make my album. "I was approached, and it wasn't so much a 'No'. It was just a 'I want to write tunes for myself at the moment'." "Once my album's done, then we'll see, but their album is already finished." Ed, 22, worked with the boys on their previous two albums, Up All Night and Take Me Home. But One Direction's label Colombia told MTV News: "The guys are still very much working on their new album." The Colombia spokesperson also said that their upcoming movie This Is Us wouldn't be released with an album. Although Ed is out, the band will be teaming up again with McFly's Tom Fletcher and producer Julian Bunetta on their third album. Julian said: "We were hanging out, working on a few new things. Obviously, we're working on new music, but they didn't say what the new music is for. It might be for nothing. It might only be for my ears... or it might be something that gets put out for the world to hear."
