Electro pop duo top singles chart

Electro pop duo Icona Pop and Brit award winner Tom Odell have given the summit of the UK charts a shake-up as both crashed in at the very top.

The Stockholm girls sold nearly 125,000 copies of their worldwide hit I Love It FT Charli XCX to debut at number one and put paid to US RnB star Robin Thicke's four-week reign at the top of the singles chart with Blurred Lines FT TI and Pharrell Williams.

It is the 11th week in a row that the number one single has sold more than 100,000 copies - a feat the like of which has not been seen since January to April 1998.

Meanwhile, UK singer/songwriter Tom's first album Long Way Down also spent its first week in the charts at number one, bringing rapper Kanye West back down to Earth after his much-talked-about Yeezus went straight to the top last week.

The 22-year-old from Chichester has been tipped for greatness after following Adele (2008), Florence And The Machine (2009), Ellie Goulding (2010), Jessie J (2011) and Emeli Sande (2012) to claim this year's Brits' Critics' Choice Award.

Elsewhere in the singles chart, the final of The Voice left its mark as Will.i.am rocketed up 39 places from number 42 to number three with The Great Gatsby soundtrack tune Bang Bang, which he performed with finalist Leah McFall.

Voice winner Andrea Begley claimed her first-ever top 40 hit with her cover of Evanescence's My Immortal, which went in at 30. The original version, first released by the US goth rockers in December 2003, also re-entered the charts at number 40 on the back of partially-sighted Andrea's emotional performance.

Anglo-Irish boyband The Wanted's new track Walks Like Rihanna went straight in at number four, giving them their eighth top 5 hit to date.

After a much-praised performance at Glastonbury which saw them go head to head with the Rolling Stones, UK electronic duo Chase and Status had yet more good news as Lost & Not Found FT Louis M^tters debuted at number 15.

Leeroy Reed, star of MTV's The Valleys, went straight in at number 37 with his first ever release, Can't Get Enough FT Nagla.
