NewsJuly, 10 Blondie go back in time for UK showDebbie Harry and her Blondie bandmates turned back time for their latest London show. The 68-year-old proved age was no barrier as she reunited with her original partners in new-wave crime, Chris Stein and Clem Burke, at the Roundhouse on July 7. In her leaf-motif shorts-suit, and garishly-orange mini-platforms, Debbie tempted the fans with One Way Or Another, showing that One Direction's cover isn't a patch on the original. The trio, who formed 39 years ago in 1974, continued to lead the crowd on a small-yet-perfectly formed set; a ride of East Coast pop-reggae-rock which included Heart Of Glass, Union City Blues and Atomic, as well as newish numbers such as A Rose By Any Name from the recent album Ghosts Of Download, and the last UK Number 1 for the group, Maria, which she dedicated "for the girls". With this show, Blondie, who will perform at Kew Gardens on Tuesday (July 9), prove they are led by one of the great pop frontwomen, who still stirs the punk-rock soul.
