NewsJuly, 10 Jay-Z boosts schoolgirl's careerJay-Z has given a schoolgirl a boost in the music industry by picking her to be a producer on his new album. The hip-hop star - who has also had a hand in the careers of Rihanna and Rita Ora - chose 16-year-old Canadian Ebony Oshunrinde, aka Wondagurl, to be a producer on his record Magna Carta Holy Grail after hearing some of her work. The beat she made on her laptop ended up in Jay-Z's track Crown. Ebony told the Toronto Globe and Mail that when she listened to the song she "felt like crying". "It was a big moment in my life," she added. Ebony explained that her producer credit came about after she sent her work to producer friend Travis Scott, who works with Jay-Z and passed it on to him. Soon afterwards Travis sent her a text that said "I'm gonna change your life". "A few days after that, he called and said that I was on the album," said Ebony. "I didn't believe it at all, because it's pretty crazy news," she added.
