NewsJuly, 16 Jay-Z talks about Timbaland feudJay-Z has revealed that Timbaland's ego caused them to fall out during the making of The Blueprint 3. The duo, who have since made up, with Timbaland producing the majority of Jay-Z's number one album Magna Carta... Holy Grail, did not see eye to eye on the rapper's 2009 album. Jay-Z, who headlined the Wireless festival in London, told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe: "The fall-out happened at the end of that album. A couple of songs was getting leaked and they were his songs, and it just ruined the whole process. Kanye, who was executive producer of Blueprint 3 was like, 'Let's get Tim... and we were all inviting of him and he just wasn't accepting of the process. "It seemed like it was more about him than the actual album. When you go and make an album, you have to put all ego aside... He wasn't accepting of that thing and that was almost the last straw type of thing, and we just went our separate ways." The HOVA star, whose real name is Shawn Carter, decided to give Timbaland (aka Timothy Mosley) another chance, even signing him up to his record label Roc Nation in January 2013. "After those concerts and he came back, I'd seen a new Timbaland. He had this maturity and this growth and I was like, 'Oh OK, this is gonna work out'," he added. Jay-Z - who also closed Wireless with Justin Timberlake - has announced five UK dates in Manchester, Birmingham and London in October to accompany his new album.
