Kylie: I don't twerk - I shimmy

Kylie Minogue has insisted her dance moves cannot be compared to the 'twerk' made famous by Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj.

The 46-year-old pop star - famous for showing off her famous derriere in the infamous gold hot pants she wore for her Spinning Around video - told the MailOnline she doesn't consider what she does twerking.

Kylie said: "As fun as it is I don't twerk. I don't know what you called what I do... I shimmy.

"I prefer the slow movement, let's say."

She added: " I think of those ladies like Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azaleas have bootys and I don't ever think of mine in the same zone."
