NewsSeptember, 16 Rudimental to perform above oceanRudimental are to reach new heights with their music - by performing on a Boeing 787 above the Atlantic Ocean. The quartet will perform a DJ set alongside fellow hitmakers Gorgon City from a new Virgin Atlantic airliner with both shows live-streamed from the plane, the first time such a broadcast feat has been attempted. They will be accompanied on the flight by an audience of fans as the airline flies a 787 for the first time on the route from London to Atlanta in the US on October 23. The two acts will be performing at around 30,000ft during the FlightDecks stunt. Amir Amor of Rudimental said: "We are all buzzing for this gig. We have played some pretty mental shows over the past two years but I think this is going to be a memorable one." Virgin Atlantic begins regular passenger 787 flights between Heathrow and Boston from October 28. Fay Burgin, the airline's head of global PR, said: " Bringing together two cutting edge music artists and attempting an absolute world first feels like a good way to cement the 787 as the centrepiece of our fleet." Fans can find out more about how they can get a seat at flightdecks.virgin-atlantic.com.
