Rolling Stones to play more live gigs

Ronnie Wood has let slip that the Rolling Stones are heading back out on tour this summer.

The band – who have a combined age of 282 – have been on the road every year since launching their 50 And Counting tour, celebrating the Stones’ 50th anniversary, in October 2012.

Now guitarist Ronnie, 67, has confirmed to Billboard that he, Mick Jagger, 71, Keith Richards, 71 and Charlie Watts, 73, will play a series of live dates in America this summer.

He said: “Yeah, we had a meeting in New York with the boys and we’re gonna come [to] North America again in the summer.”

The band headlined Glastonbury festival in 2013 and played a series of sell-out gigs in London’s Hyde Park the same year.

Ronnie added: “”We`re just mind-blown about how the music is coming out even better than ever. And I`m getting it easier nowadays, ’cause we’re having an easier schedule than I used to have.”

No dates have been announced and it will be the band’s first performance since the death of saxophone player Bobby Keys in 2014. Keys died in December, aged 70, following an ongoing battle with cirrhosis of the liver.
