Zayn Malik suffers foot injury

Pop star Zayn Malik has taken to using a wheelchair after suffering a mystery foot injury.

The former One Direction singer was photographed being pushed in a wheelchair by an assistant as he arrived at his supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid's New York apartment building on Saturday (29Apr17), with his ripped jeans pulled up around his shoe-less left foot.

"Zayn injured his foot but is fine," his representative confirms to People.com, although no further details about how he sustained the injury or the exact nature of the ailment have been released.

The Brit has also yet to comment on his ailment on social media, but Gigi is sure to be taking good care of her man as the pair's romance appears to be going strong after 18 months together.

Last weekend (23Apr17), Zayn shared a short but sweet birthday tribute to Gigi as she turned 22.

Alongside a black-and-white snap of himself kissing the runway beauty, the 24-year-old wrote, "happy birthday to my everything", adding a red heart emoji.

Gigi shared a similar snap, in which she held a large cake covered in pink frosting, which read, "Happy Birthday Gigi" in icing. She simply captioned the image with a double heart emoji.

Zayn's injury emerges three weeks after he and hip-hop star PartyNextDoor filmed the music video for his latest solo single Still Got Time, which involved the collaborators throwing a raucous party at a London mansion. The gangster-style shoot reportedly featured a number of female strippers, loud dance music, and live animals, including a monkey.
