Cheryl shuts down reports of Justin Bieber collaboration: ‘It is not true’

Cheryl has denied reports that she is gearing up to meet Justin Bieber in America in a bid to kick start her solo career.

It was claimed that the singer, who is preparing to work on her fifth album, was keen to get Bieber involved after her boyfriend Liam Payne reportedly arranged a meeting.

A source told The Sun: “Cheryl is set up to meet with Justin Bieber on her LA trip - to discuss finally doing that track together.

“Set-up by Liam - a big favour... Biebs has said ‘cool, let's hang out and talk’ but he can be notoriously flaky – and ruthless when it comes to his music.”

But a spokesperson for Cheryl dismissed the reports, telling Standard Online: “It is not true.”

Cheryl, who released her last album, Only Human, in 2014, is said to be keen to get back to work after giving birth to her first child with Payne, son Bear, in March.

A source told the Daily Mirror: “She hasn’t started working on the new album yet as she is still enjoying her time off with Bear.

“She’s loved their time together as she adjusted to being a mum and is still easing herself back into work.

“But she is looking forward to getting out there and starting recording. She still has ambitions as a singer and will be a working mum.”

Payne has been busy focusing on his debut solo career after releasing his first single, Strip That Down in May.

On Monday he surprised fans by busking in London's Oxford Circus with DJ Zedd, who he has teamed up with for his next single, Get Low.
