Carl Falk Instagram post suggests posthumous Avicii track featuring Chris Martin will be released

An Avicii track may be released posthumously, months after the 28-year-old’s passing earlier this year.

It was hinted that the track, called “Heaven,” and featuring Coldplay’s Chris Martin, would be released after an Instagram post from Avicii’s long-time collaborator Carl Falk.

On a photo of the track in the studio, Falk wrote that it had been a “strange and emotional day” as he tried to finish the songs.

“It’s not the same producing without you by my side. I miss you hanging over my shoulder doubting every little thing and detail in the song. #Avicii #heaven,” Falk wrote.

There has been no official release date for the song - but it may be one of an entire posthumous album.

After Avicii’s death on April 20, it was reported that the Swedish DJ, whose real name was Tim Bergling, had left nearly 200 finished songs.

Although Avicii had retired from touring and performing in 2016, the late EDM musician reportedly continued to make music.

According to a statement released by his family following his death, “When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most - music.

“He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer.”

The Bergling family concluded the statement promising that Avicii’s music would keep his memory alive.

“Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you, Your family.”

Avicii and Falk previously worked together on the songs “Broken Arrows,” “Sunset Jesus,” and “Trouble.”
