In 2020, he performed at the Super Bowl half-time show with Shakira and Jennifer Lopez and last month triumphed at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, taking home seven awards including for Artist of the Year. Narcos: Mexico was originally intended to be a fourth season of the Netflix show Narcos, but instead became its own spin-off series centred around the illegal drug trade in Mexico. Also joining the cast for season three will be Luis Gerardo Méndez, Alberto Guerra and Luisa Rubino. The new run of episodes will be notable as the first not to star Diego Luna as leader of the Guadalajara Cartel, Miguel Gallardo.
