Who are Eurovision 2022 presenters? Italy confirms presenters as acts and fans descend on Turin

The Eurovision Song Contest is back for another year and, as well as the many acts who will be taking to the stage for the annual event, three people with a very important job to do are the hosts.

This year's Eurovision is taking place in Italy after r4ock group Maneskin emerged victorious in Rotterdam 12 months ago, after a nail-biting end which saw Switzerland and France also in contention for the 2021 title. After a fantastic year, which has them taste huge success in the UK and America, Mansekin will be back on stage at Eurovision 2022, and they will be joined in Turin's Pala Olimpico by the presenters.

Countless people have hosted Eurovision across the years, including former winners Conchita Wurst and Mans Zamerlow, as well as late Eurovision icon Terry Wogan, who presented alongside Ulrika Jonsson, when the UK last staged the event in 1998, following Katrina and the Waves' win 25 years ago.

This year's contest got going when the Eurovision semi finals kick off on Tuesday and, ahead of Eurovision semi final 2 happening on Thursday,, the latest Eurovision odds are predicting victory for Ukraine in Saturday's final, with the UK's Sam Ryder now in second place with some bookmakers. Sam has crept more and more into the frame over the past week, after two brilliant rehearsals and a draw in the second half of the final.

This year's hosts including Mika, the singer who scored huge hits in the UK and across Europe in the late 2000s, with tracks like Love Today, Happy Ending and number 1 Grace Kelly. Commenting on getting the role, Mika said: "I've been watching it since I was a kid, the whole family would get together for the Grand Final.

"Once a year, more than 40 countries share the same emotions, regardless of history or the political situation: music unites them. It's an exciting honour to be one of the masters of ceremony on these fantastic nights."

Mika is joined as host with Italian singer Laura Pausini, who UK viewers might remember from her 2002 English language album From The Inside. Laura is rated very highly by Eurovision organisers, who describe her as "possibly the most highly regarded Italian recording artist in the world."

The Eurovision hosting line-up is completed by Italian tv presenter Alessandro Cattelan.

The BBC's Eurovision coverage gets going with the first semi final on Tuesday, May 12, when Rylan Clark and Scott Mills will take the reins on BBC Three, before being back on duty for the second semi on May 12.

As he has done for many years how, Graham Norton will be the BBC host for the grand final on Saturday, May 14, with coverage starting at 8pm.
