Amanda Holden 'in tears' as she thanks BGT semi-final act for saving lives

Amanda Holden was left 'in tears' when a group NHS singers performed on Thursday's live semi-final of Britain's Got Talent.

The 51-year-old judge was moved by The Frontline Singers, who also garnered much praise from the other judges, Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

After the choir performed, the crowd gave a standing ovation and Amanda thanked them for their "extraordinary" showing.

After BGT hosts Ant and Dec turned to Amanda for her critique, she said: "I loved the song. I thought it was extraordinary, it moved me to tears."

Amanda then went on to say that the nation were in debt to the work that the choir members did during the coronavirus pandemic.

She continued: "We owe you such a great debt. Not only did you save lives, you've come together and produced this amazing sound.

"The harmonies were beautiful, the staging was fantastic, I felt you had real presence tonight. I would love to see you in the final, this is what the show is for."

Amanda was not the only one who found the performance emotional, as viewers took to Twitter to share their love for the singers.

One viewer tweeted their admiration, writing: "Amazing to see such a great performance from the @TFSingers - Draw from a community we respect and are thankful for."

While another added: "Blimey! Wow #BGT #NHS We love you just fantastic"

A third tweeted: "The Frontline singers, sooo moving and emotional"

The Britain's Got Talent official Twitter account shared: "Simply stunning! @TFSingers are pulling at our heartstrings once again."
