NewsMarch, 6 Clay Walker to play Randy Travis in biopic![]() A Randy Travis biopic is in the works, starring country star Clay Walker. The theatrical release will tackle the dramatic highs and lows in Travis's groundbreaking career and near-fatal health crisis. Forever and Ever, Amen, named after Travis' signature hit and his 2020 memoir, is currently in production, People magazine reported. Travis and Walker are set to make a public announcement about the film on Wednesday evening in Nashville. "I'm so glad that this story is going to get told because it deserves to get told," Walker told People. Walker's conviction was in part behind the project. A longtime friend of Travis and his wife, Mary, Walker brought the idea to filmmaker Andrew Hyatt, who wrote the screenplay, and will direct the film. Walker and the Travises have signed on as executive producers. Walker will play Travis in his 40s and 50s, and the casting team is on the lookout for two new rising stars to play Travis at around age 9-12 and at age 20-30. Travis is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame with 23 No 1 worldwide hits, seven Grammy Awards, 11 ACM Awards, 10 American Music Awards and five CMA Awards.
