The 79-year-old music legend was left heartbroken this week when her husband of 59-years, Carl Dean, passed away at the age of 82 on Monday. Taking to social media on Thursday, Parton shared her thanks to those who had sent her messages and tokens of support as she battled her grief. She wrote in a post shared via Instagram, "This is a love note to family, friends, and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you've sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl. "I can't reach out personally to each of you but just know it has meant the world to me. He is in God's arms now and I am okay with that. I will always love you." Parton and Dean married in 1966 after meeting in a laundromat in 1964 with the couple previously explaining it was love at first sight. Dean kept himself largely out of the spotlight for the duration of their marriage - making rare appearances in documentaries about his wife's successful career, including an episode of Dateline. In 2016, the happy couple renewed their wedding vows after 50 years of marriage - with Carl reflecting on they moment they met, per Entertainment Tonight, "My first thought was I'm gonna marry that girl. "My second thought was, Lord she's good lookin'. And that was the day my life began. I wouldn't trade the last 50 years for nothing on this earth."
