NewsMarch, 4 Doechii riles fans with anti-cat rant: 'They aren't friendly animals!'
Doechii has divided fans while sharing her thoughts about cats. The US rapper and singer took to Threads to bluntly share that she's not a fan of felines. "People act like it's a crime to dislike cats when they genuinely aren't friendly animals," she wrote. "They don't wanna be domestic, just leave 'em alone! Like it's not organic. I'm sorry but it's rare that cats are immediately lovey without years of pain and work put in. "Y'all be scratched and beat up by your own animals," she added. The statement prompted a passionate response from the cat-loving community, who flooded the comments in defence of the furry creatures. But the self-styled Swamp Princess wasn't backing down. In the comments of her anti-cat post, she shared a video of Tiffany Pollard laughing at audience members booing and throwing things at her on Flavour of Love in 2006. "Me vs cat owners," the rapper captioned the clip. Doechii is riding the wave of a successful awards run this year, picking up three NAACP Award nominations and winning a Grammy for Best Music Video for Anxiety in February. "I don't even know what to say, I wasn't expecting this one, thank u," she wrote on Threads of the win.
