Jon Batiste has abruptly cancelled several upcoming concerts due to "personal circumstances".

The U.S. singer-songwriter has announced that he has had to scrap several August performances across New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut, but has not revealed why.

Batiste was scheduled to perform at the New Haven Westville Music Bowl in Connecticut on Thursday, the TD Pavilion at Highmark Mann in Philadelphia on Friday and Forest Hills Stadium in New York on Saturday.

In a joint message shared by the Westville Music Bowl and TD Pavilion on social media on Wednesday, Batiste explained that he is navigating "some personal circumstances".

"Hello! As I navigate some personal circumstances, I unfortunately need to cancel a portion of my upcoming performance dates including at the Westville Music Bowl on August 13th," he wrote.

"As we continue the rollout and release of my new albums, Monk Meditations and Monk Movements, my team and I are finding new ways and opportunities to share live music with you," the FREEDOM hitmaker continued. "There's much more to come, and I'm looking forward to what's ahead."

Batiste told fans that "refunds will be available" and thanked them for their ongoing support.

"Thank you for your understanding and continued support," he penned. "I truly can't wait to come back and perform for you soon."

The 39-year-old did not reveal what personal circumstances he is dealing with.

According to his official website, Batiste's shows scheduled for Ohio, Virginia and Georgia later this month appear to still be going ahead.
